Singapore’s Tigerair will add extra more flights to two destinations in southern India.
The low-cost carrier is planning to temporarily increase its flight frequency to Hyderabad to daily, while its route to Tiruchirappalli, or Trichy, will rise to two daily flights. Both increases will be applied between 25 April and 15 June 2016.
“Tigerair has always viewed India as an extremely significant part of our global network [and] we realise the potential and opportunities that the market has to offer,” said Teh Yik Chuan, Tigerair’s sales & marketing director.
Tigerair currently operates 44 weekly flights from Singapore to six Indian destinations: Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Bengaluru, Trichy and Lucknow. All services are operated using a fleet of 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
Last year however, the airline scrapped its partnership with SpiceJet.
