Tourism Toronto recently hosted some of India’s leading companies to a cocktail evening and dinner.
The event was presided over by Mark Crawford, the tourism board’s director of international business development, who was participating in a sales mission to India for the first time. He took the opportunity to meet the Indian MICE market and provide them with information on Toronto’s product offerings.
Tourism Toronto collaborated with Jet Airways and Starwood Hotels & Resorts for the event, which was attended by more than 70 corporates.
“I had been eagerly waiting to visit India especially after the splendid response we have received from the market within our first year of business. As is known, the Indian outbound market is witnessing a rapid growth which includes large movement on the MICE front. We are keen to capitalise on this boom by illuminating the amazing resources that Toronto possesses to host large numbers,” said Crawford.
The event concluded with a prize draw, offering guests the chance to win stays at Starwood’s Westin Harbour Castle Toronto and Sheraton City Centre Toronto, and business class tickets to the Canadian city with Jet Airways.
