UK tourists flock to British Columbia

The number of UK arrivals to British Columbia in Canada has risen 35 percent in the first six months of 2016, according to figures released by Destination BC.

The province, which has attracted more than three million visitors already this year, 12.5 per cent more than 2015, reported 885,000 visitors in July alone.

The UK led the way in terms of source markets, followed by the United States.

Vancouver was the most popular destination for foreign visitors.

According to Destination BC, the province’s tourism industry supports 127,000 jobs.
