Unicorn Hospitality has penned an agreement to manage the Maekok River Village Resort in Chiang Mai.
The deal for the 36-room eco-lodge, which is located on the banks of the Maekok River, two hours’ drive from Chiang Mai city, forms part of the company’s strategy to focus of small and medium-sized boutique properties in Thailand.
“Maekok River Village Resort is an absolute treasure and we are very pleased to be working with them,” said Unicorn’s founder & managing director, Yann Gouriou.
“What they offer lies at the very heart of Thailand’s hospitality industry which is a genuine and absolutely authentic experience. It is natural, peaceful and offers a whole host of activities for families and individual travellers to enjoy and we look forward to launching this around the world.”
The Maekok River Village Resort specialises in “soft adventure, nature escapes and authentic Thai experiences for families and independent travellers”, and also provides camps for schools. Its community service programmes have also raised money for the construction or refurbishment of facilities at 25 schools over the last 10 years.
The addition of the resort continues the expansion of Unicorn’s business, following the company’s launch in January this year. The company also represents Kalara Hotels & Resorts in Koh Samui.
