United Airlines has started utilising Amadeus’ advanced online search tools to improve how its fares are displayed.
Using the new “instant pricing” technology, passengers searching on United’s website can now select their route from the airline’s homepage, then hover over the return date to view the lowest available fares. This means customers can compare departure date options even before submitting their full itinerary search.
“This instant pricing tool is a key part of our reimagined flight booking experience with an emphasis on personalisation and performance for our customers,” said Scott Wilson, United’s vice president of merchandising & e-commerce.
“Partnering with Amadeus is helping us enhance our customers’ shopping experience today, and gives us the technology foundation to create a more customer-centric future.”
United’s new search feature is currently only available for economy class on select US domestic city pairs, but it will be expanded in future to cover additional routes – including international – and premium fares.
