United Airlines has announced plans to launch direct Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights between Denver and Tokyo Narita airport.

Commencing on 31 March 2013, the new service will be operated daily using United’s new 219-seat Dreamliner, featuring 36 in seats in business class, 63 in premium economy and 120 in economy class.

Flights will depart Denver daily at 1155 and arrive in Tokyo at 1500 the next day. The return service will depart Narita at 1640, arriving back into Denver at 1230 the same day.

“Opening this next frontier of opportunity with a non-stop flight to Tokyo will create new jobs, generate more than US$130 million in annual economic benefit to Colorado, and elevate Denver as a world-class city on the global stage,” said Denver’s Mayor Michael Hancock. “Together with many of our business and civic partners, we have worked for nearly a decade to secure this flight. Thank you to United Airlines for their commitment to the Denver market and DIA (Denver International Airport).”

The route will become the first direct air link between Tokyo and Denver.
