New Villa Mahabhirom Chiang Mai GM promises resort will become “market leader”

Villa Mahabhirom Chiang Mai, which translates into English as the ‘villa of great pleasure’, has appointed Holman Fong as its new general manager.

Fong’s knowledge and experience in sales and marketing, as well as operations gained over the years, brings a well-known professional to the all-villa boutique resort in Thailand’s second city. He is responsible for the resort’s operation, customer experience, sales and the development of department heads.

Fong began his hospitality career as a sales manager in Hong Kong for the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group followed by a stint as an off-site sales manager for Marriott International in Toronto, Canada.

After returning to Asia he was associated with the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, Sheraton Hotel Corporation and Raffles International as the on-property and international sales manager. He also oversaw – as director of sales and marketing and life resort management in Vietnam – the pre-opening sales and marketing development of three new hotels.

Prior to joining Villa Mahabhirom, Fong was the director of sales and marketing for the iconic destination resort, The Dhara Dhevi Chiang Mai.

Commenting on his new role Fong said: “Being responsible for this ‘artiste boutique’ property is a great opportunity to ensure the success of this luxury resort which will become a market leader, and we are excited about a whole new realm of experience to the luxury traveller to Chiang Mai”.
