Leslie Thng has been appointed CEO of Vistara, Singapore Airlines’ Indian joint venture.
A former chief executive of SilkAir, Thng was previously the chief commercial officer of Budget Aviation Holdings, which oversees SIA’s low-cost carriers, Tigerair and Scoot.
He replaces Phee Teik Yeoh at Vistara, with the former CEO moving back to SIA to take up a “senior appointment”. Yeoh had led Vistara since the start, overseeing its launch and first commercial flight in January 2015.
Thng is a SIA veteran, having started his career with the company. He has since held many senior positions with the airline across several international markets and various businesses.
The appointment of Thng is subject to the approval of the Indian government.
