Thai Airways International (THAI) will launch Airbus A380 flights to London and Syndey next year.
Speaking to Travel Daily, THAI’s executive vice president of technical Montree Jumrieng said the new superjumbo will be flown between Bangkok and Heathrow from October 2013, after the delivery of its fifth aircraft.
Airbus A380 flights to Sydney will start on 16 September 2013, becoming the airline’s fourth new A380 route launch of the year.
Daily flights to Tokyo, Paris and Osaka will commence in January, February and August 2013 respectively.
THAI will receive its first A380 in a delivery ceremony in Toulouse tomorrow (Thursday 27 September) and has six of the double-decker aircraft on order.
The first aircraft will initially fly to Singapore and Hong Kong on a temporary basis until mid-December, before being deployed on the Bangkok-Frankfurt route.
