Accor is expanding its Mercure brand in Australia, with the launch of a new property on the coast of Victoria.
Located on the Mornington Peninsula, 1.5 hours’ drive from Melbourne, the new Mercure Portsea Golf Club & Resort is a new-build hotel which forms part of a new multi-million dollar leisure and MICE complex. Overlooking Port Phillip Bay, the hotel feature 24 rooms, a restaurant and conference facilities for up to 300 people.
“By partnering with Portsea Golf Club it has enabled us to add to Portsea’s tourism offering and cater to the growing demand for premium accommodation by leisure travellers,” said the hotel’s general manager, Duncan Mars.
“The Mercure will also provide new opportunities to build the meetings and events market in the region, which is already on the rise with a number of weddings and conferences booked at the hotel before it has opened, which is very encouraging.”
Mercure Portsea Golf Club & Resort becomes the 39th Mercure in Australia, and joins Accor’s portfolio of more than 30 hotels in the state of Victoria.
