Yas Island has China on its target. According to Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA), in the first two months of 2014 alone, the UAE Capital saw some 22,577 Chinese travellers check into its hotels – a 182% uplift compared to 2013.
Riding on this trend, the attraction is headed to Shanghai to participate in the Incentive Travel & Convention, Meetings China 2014 (IT&CM China). The company is looking to build relationships with China’s outbound travel industry.
“China is a rapidly growing source market, and Abu Dhabi continues to grow as a top international destination for business tourism. Our visitors have found that integrating exciting activities, including motor-racing, golfing, theme parks and dining experiences, can help better their business event,” said Clive Dwyer, director of Destination Management for Yas Island.
Adjusting to market demand, there are now more than 45 direct flights a week between China and UAE.
