Accor has announced new openings for its MGallery and Mercure brands in the UK.

New MGallery hotels are in the pipeline for Windsor, Cheltenham (pictured) and Aberdeen with openings to take place this year and next.

In addition to the Francis Hotel, Bath this will bring the total of MGallery hotels in the UK to four. Another six are being scouted in key leisure destinations.

Accor also has plans to develop more Mercure properties in the UK, with plans in place for hotels in Bristol, Cardiff, Oxford, Sheffield, Exeter and Box Hill.

Renovations will start on the hotels this year and will include the brand’s new public area concept.

“With three new elegant hotels in the MGallery Collection and six flagship hotels for Mercure, we are really proving the strength of our brands in the UK, and we are delighted to be working on this project alongside our long-term partner Moorfield,” said Thomas Dubaere, managing director Accor UK & Ireland.

Accor UK & Ireland’s SVP operations luxury, upscale and midscale Jonathan Sheard added: “The further roll out of the innovative lobby concept for the Mercure brand proves its success at meeting new customer expectations and behaviour.”
