October numbers up for IAG

International Airlines Group (IAG) has seen a 10.3% increase in passenger numbers during October year-on-year.
Numbers year to date had also seen an increase of 8.8% compared to last year, with the highest growth among routes in Europe.
The group, which owns British Airways, Iberia and Vueling, showed a 7.5% increase in revenue passenger km for October, which was stable against a 7.7% rise in capacity measured by available seat km.
Load factors have remained relatively stable dropping by 0.2% in October to 81%, and down 0.7% year-to-date to 80.7%.
Vueling has posted the highest growth with double-digit increases in both RPK and ASK (27% and 26.2%), compared to smaller figures for Iberia (6% and 8%) and British Airways (5.4% and 5.2%).
