Eurowings has taken delivery of two new Airbus A320 passenger jets.
The German airline hopes to replace its existing fleet, which originally consisted of 23 smaller Bombardier CRJ-900s, with A320s by April 2017.
The first new A320 was handed over to Eurowings in January in Hamburg. Last week’s delivery marks the completion of the second and third orders; a total of 16 A320 aircraft will be joining the Eurowings fleet this year.
Some of these aircraft will begin flying new summer routes that the airline will be launching as part of its summer flight schedule that begins on 27 March.
