Valid for travel until December 2017, the new Faraway brochure has increased by 20 pages, with 276 pages in total, and is Premier Holidays’ first launch of the year. It will be distributed to agents across the UK at the end of July.

The India and Myanmar sections have seen the biggest changes. Two new India excursions have been added: block printing in Bagru – a hands-on experience where clients can create their own piece of block art – and a cycling tour of Delhi. Appealing to wildlife lovers, a Big Cat Safari is a new part escorted tour giving clients the chance to see tigers, lions and leopards in their natural habitats.

Four pages have been added to the Myanmar section; notable excursions include the addition of five mini tours and a new Highlights of Myanmar tour aimed at first-time visitors on a budget.

Clients booking a trip to China can now add a visit to see some pandas with the new China Essential and Panda Tour. And those travelling to Japan can benefit from two new excursions: Hakone and Mount Fuji – a self-guided full day trip to the national park – and a three-hour cycling tour through the back streets of Kyoto.

Two new pages have been added to Indochina; highlights include the new Journey Through Vietnam tour, which features a cooking class in Hoi An and a stay in an Ecolodge in Mai Chau – ideal for clients looking for something a bit different. For repeat travellers, the Cambodia Cultural Discovery tour has been introduced, taking people off the beaten track to more rural areas.

More of a wildlife focus has been given to Sri Lanka, including two additional pages to this section and the adding of the National Park of Gal Oya side trip, where clients can enjoy a boat safari and swimming elephants. The new 5* Chena Huts by Uga Escapes have also been added to the portfolio, where guests get their own private pool.

Debbie Goffin, head of sales and marketing, said: “We can offer people a number of unusual and creative options for excursions and tours to add to their holiday itinerary, with ideas for first-time visitors to a country as well as repeat travellers. Wildlife and cycling trips are becoming increasingly more popular, so we’ve made sure to give enthusiasts a wide variety.

“Vietnam and Thailand are doing very well this year – with more than double the number of passengers for Vietnam compared to the same period last year, and around a 25 per cent increase for Thailand – and we have added to these sections.”
