The cost of entry to the Angkor temple complex will nearly double in 2017, it has been revealed.

The Bangkok Post reported the Cambodian government as confirming that, from 1 February 2017, price of a one-day ticket will jump 85% from US$20 to US$37. The cost of a three-day ticket will increase 55% from US$40 to US$62, and a one-week ticket will rise 20% from US$60 to US$72.

Cambodian nationals and children under the age of 12 will still be able to enter free-of-charge.

According to figures from the Apsara Authority, which manages the UNESCO World Heritage-listed complex, 2.1 million people visited Angkor last year, raking in approximately US$60 million in ticket sales.
