AccorHotels has made two new Mercure signings, the Mercure Thame Lambert Hotel in Watlington M4 J6 (Oxfordshire), and the Mercure Hunton Park Watford M25 (Hertfordshire).
Both Mercure hotels have been signed under franchise agreements with the Estee Group and SR Hotels respectively.
The hotels will undergo major renovation programmes over the coming months, with the operators adding additional rooms and updating the conference facilities.
The Mercure Thame Lambert will consist of 44 rooms, a rosette restaurant, bar, conference and popular wedding venue. There is a plan for further 22 rooms at the rear of the hotel and develop Gym and spa. The Mercure Hunton Park property comprises 61 rooms, a restaurant, bar and extensive conference facilities. A further 16 rooms are planned for next year as well as a leisure facility and spa, an award-winning restaurant and a bespoke wedding venue.
Discussing the signing, Thomas Dubaere, Managing Director of AccorHotels UK & Ireland commented: “Accelerating the franchise growth of the Mercure brand in the UK is a key focus for us in 2017. These signings show the strength of the brand in the UK, and we look forward to opening further Mercure hotels later this year.”
The hotels, both of which are due to open this year, will bring the Mercure network in the UK to 82 hotels. Strong organic franchise growth, particularly for the Mercure brand, is one of AccorHotels’ strategic priorities in the UK as it continues to expand.
