United Airlines sees big for the coming northern summer and is adding 400 flights to its July schedule and increasing services to now available European destinations with the aim to offer its customers at least 80% of its pre-pandemic flight activity.

The plan is based on the largest monthly schedule in recent times and on an upturn of summer travel bookings up by 214% when compared to the same period of 2020.

United Airlines is adding new US domestic routes to Bozeman (BZN), Orange County (SNA), Raleigh (RDU), and Yellowstone/Cody (COD). More convenient options for customers are provided by adjusting its flight schedule at its Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).

On the international network, United is making available to travellers more options to visit Europe from New York/Newark (EWR) by adding an additional weekly flight to Dubrovnik (DBV) from 01 July and adding space by using a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft, which includes United Premium Plus seats, on services to Athens (ATH) effective in July 2021.

United is also adding a second flight from Washington Dulles (IAD) to Frankfurt (FRA), offering an evening departure with a one-stop connection to over 50 European cities through the codeshare with Star Alliance partner Lufthansa. United is furthermore planning to resume services to Spain and Portugal with flights from Newark (EWR) to Barcelona (BCN), Madrid (MAD) and Lisbon (LIS). These destinations are subject to travel opening for vaccinated travellers.

On international travel, United is providing passengers with all the necessary information on health and entry requirements. United gives the possibility to customers to search, book and upload COVID-19 tests and vaccination records through its own digital platform. The carrier is also one of the first US airlines to set up an easy way for international travellers to bring a CDC approved test with them, self-administer while abroad when returning home.

“As we start to see a strong desire from our customers to travel internationally to re=opened countries, we are excited to move up services and add a fourth weekly flight to Dubrovnik, Croatia, and with the additional seats we are adding to Athens, Greece, we continue to make creative adjustments to match our service with customer trends” commented Patrick Quayle, United Vice President of International Network and Alliances.
