Accor has opened a new ibis hotel in Hong Kong, which is set to be the brand’s flagship property in the Asia Pacific region.

The 550-room ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan, located close to Sheung Wan MTR station and the Macau Ferry terminal, becomes one of the first ibis properties in Asia to feature the new brand identity, which is being rolled out globally. These brand offerings include eight hours of breakfast service (starting at 4.30am), a 24-hour bar and complimentary Wi-Fi in all areas of the hotel. The hotel is also offering a ’15-minute satisfaction promise’ for guest requests made through the front desk.

The launch of the hotel also means that Accor now operates more than 100,000 rooms in the Asia Pacific region – a fact noted by Michael Issenberg, Accor’s Asia Pacific Chairman & Chief Operating Officer, at the 2012 Economy Hotels World Asia conference in Singapore.

“Today, Accor operates 536 hotels in 16 countries in Asia-Pacific and is the market leader in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea and Vietnam,” Issenberg said. “I am proud to announce that Accor’s network has grown beyond 100,000 rooms in Asia Pacific, with the opening of ibis Hong Kong Central and Sheung Wan. It is only fitting that we celebrate this milestone at this stylish hotel, which represents a new flagship for the ibis brand in the region.”

The revamped ibis brand consists of three separate labels – ibis, ibis Styles (formerly all Seasons) and ibis budget (Formule 1). Currently Accor operates 179 ibis hotels in Asia Pacific, including 113 ibis, 42 ibis Styles and 24 ibis budget properties.
