Accor has signed a new deal that will see the launch of its luxury Sofitel brand on the Singapore island of Sentosa.
The Sentosa, A Beaufort Hotel, has now been temporarily renamed as The Singapore Resort & Spa Sentosa, managed by Accor. But following a major renovation, it will be relaunched in the second half of 2015 as the Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa.
“The Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa will be a key addition to our Singapore hotels and to the Sofitel Asia Pacific network,” said Michael Issenberg, chairman & chief operating officer of Accor Asia Pacific.
“We currently have 40 Sofitels in the region, which means Asia Pacific represents one third of our global network and a strong pipeline of Sofitels to open in the next couple of years.”
The hotel, which is owned by the Royal Group, will now undergo a full refurbishment which is expected to take 12-18 months to complete.
Once reopened in 2015, the Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa will have 215 rooms, suites and villas, a spa with 14 treatment rooms, two swimming pools, tennis, volleyball and badminton courts, and landscaped gardens. It will also cater to the MICE market with two ballrooms and a new pre-function area.
