A new aparthotel brand has been launched in the UK in a joint venture by Accor and Pierre & Vacances Center Parcs Group.
The new property has opened in Liverpool with 126 studio and one-bed apartments each with a fully-equipped kitchen. Its hotel services include a 24/7 reception, free internet and housekeeping. It has been opened in the former Lewis department store as part of a GBP26 million development.
“We are delighted to announce the launch of Adagio in the UK, a market that will play a key role in the growth and development of the network in the coming years,” said Vangelis Porikis, Adagio’s director central and northern Europe.
“The European aparthotel market is an exciting one. Aparthotels Adagio aims to grow the network to 150 properties by 2016 and become the European reference and a global leader in aparthotels: an ambitious and exciting growth plan of which the UK plays an essential part,” he added.
This will include an aparthotel in Birmingham next year and plans for London, Edinburgh, Manchester and Glasgow.
Adagio already has 90 properties across Europe with others planned to launch in Abu Dhabi and Brazil later this year.
