Aegean Airlines touches down in QAIA

Airport International Group (AIG) responsible for rehabilitation, expansion and operation of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) has announced commencement of scheduled Aegean Airlines flights through QAIA.

Launched in cooperation with Petra Travel & Tourism Company, the inaugural flight arriving from Athens landed at QAIA. This was with attendance of Greek ambassador to Jordan, Aegean Airlines executives and general sales agents in Jordan.

“This step is closely aligned with our goal to further cement QAIA’s standing as Jordan’s gateway to the world, and to help position the Kingdom as a niche transfer hub for business and tourism travelers alike,” said AIG CEO Kjeld Binger.

The airline currently operates two inbound and outbound flights per week between Amman and Athens, bringing total number of QAIA direct routes to 67 destinations across four continents.
