Indonesia’s Archipelago International has opened its first Harper Hotel in Jakarta.

The new Harper MT Haryono is located in the Cawang area of the city, close to Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport and the main toll road to Bogor and Bandung.

It features a total of 131 rooms and suites, all with free Wi-Fi, plus an outdoor swimming pool, restaurant and bar, and extensive MICE facilities including four meeting rooms and a ballroom.

“Our Harper brand is the youngest in our portfolio, yet its success story is comparable to some of our strongest brands,” said John Flood, president & CEO of Archipelago. “Jakarta has established itself as a thriving destination for travellers, and we are excited to respond to this rising demand by opening our first Harper hotel in this bustling city.

“We are confident that the opening of the hotel will resonate strongly with the local Jakarta community and guests visiting from around the world,” he added.

The new hotel becomes the fifth Harper in Indonesia, following existing properties in Bali, Yogyakarta, Purwakarta and Makassar. And at least five more openings are being planned by the end of 2017, including a second location in Jakarta.
