Indonesia’s Archipelago International has hosted its annual recruitment fair in an effort to attract new staff to its rapidly-expanding portfolio of hotels.
Following last year’s inaugural event in Jakarta, this year’s recruitment fair was held in Yogyakarta on 14 June and attracted more than 500 job seekers. And the event is timely for Archipelago; the company is expecting to open 80 more hotels in Indonesia over the next 18 months. For the coming year alone, the company estimates that it will require more than 2,000 new staff members.
“Our main goal for the annual job fair is to raise awareness of our brand to all job-seekers and the public alike,” said Lukas K. Samali, Archipelago’s vice president of human resources.
“Archipelago International is always looking for talented people to grow with our developing company. With our 11 brands ranging from five-star to two-star hotels and villas, we believe our hotel group offers the largest number of job vacancies in Indonesia.”
As well as showcasing the job opportunities on offer, the recruitment event was also intended to introduce the training and career paths offered by Archipelago, which include inter-hotel transfers.
The company said it will welcome applicants from the hotel sector or other lines of work, as well as students and university graduates.
