Following the recent launch of Indonesia’s first Alana upscale hotel in Surabaya, Archipelago International is now planning to bring the brand to three more destinations: Yogyakarta, Solo and Sentul, near Jakarta.
Designed to encompass “four- and five-star new-build hotel, resort and residential projects”, the Alana brand forms the upper tier of Archipelago’s broad brand portfolio, alongside budget favehotel and NEO, midscale Quest and Harper, and upscale Aston.
The three new properties will open from September 2014 onwards, adding a further 788 rooms and suites, plus a series of high-end amenities and meeting space. All Alana hotels offer free Wi-Fi.
“Alana has become a real success story following the first Alana hotel in Surabaya. With this success, we are continuing to move forward and we are very confident with the opening of these three new locations,” said Norbert Vas, Archipelago’s vice president of sales & marketing.
“We are so confident about the future of tourism and conference demand in Yogyakarta, Solo and Sentul, that we are adding more of our brands to these burgeoning cities. Harper Mangkubumi will open in Yogyakarta later this year, while Sentul City will see the opening of both the Aston Sentul Lake Resort & Convention Center as well as Quest Hotel Sentul.”
The first new property to launch will be the Alana Hotel & Residence Yogyakarta. Opening in September 2014, the hotel will add 269 rooms and suites in the Mataram City area of Yogyakarta, close to shopping malls and a convention centre. Facilities will include a coffee shop, lounge, outdoor swimming pool, spa, gym, seven meeting rooms and a ballroom capable of accommodating up to 1,600 people.
Then in mid 2015, the Alana Adi Sucipto hotel will open in Solo, Central Java, with 248 rooms and suites, and a similar range of upscale amenities, including five meeting rooms and an 800-pax ballroom. The hotel will be situated between Solo’s city centre and Adi Sumarmo International Airport.
Finally, the Alana will add 271 more rooms and suites to Sentul, West Java, next year, with the opening of the Alana Ah Poong Sentul. Located close to a theme park and golf club, the new resort will offer a swimming pool, spa, eight meeting rooms and a 500-pax ballroom.
Archipelago International is expanding rapidly, and expects to more than double its portfolio of hotels from 80 today to more than 170 in the coming years, with multiple new projects in Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia.
