Archipelago International will launch a new Alana-branded hotel in Yogyakarta next year, which is set to become the city’s largest conference hotel.
The Alana Hotel & Convention Center Yogyakarta is expected to open in February 2015. And combining 269 upscale rooms with the city’s largest ballroom, plus a range of supporting function areas, the new Alana is set to become a major new player on the Central Java MICE scene.
Archipelago went as far as to say that the hotel will “establish Yogyakarta as Indonesia’s best convention destination after Bali”.
“This vibrant, cultural city is the perfect location for the hotel’s contemporary MICE facilities, and since it is set to become the largest convention centre hotel in Yogya, we are confident that the hotel will help cater to the growing business market in the region,” said Norbert Vas, Archipelago’s vice president of sales & marketing.
Located within the Mataram City mixed-used development, the Alana Hotel & Convention Center will also be situated next to a major shopping mall. The hotel itself will feature 269 rooms and suites, plus a coffee shop and lounge, an outdoor swimming pool, spa and gym. The conference centre will include 10 meeting rooms and a 2,000-pax capacity ballroom.
The new Yogyakarta hotel becomes only the second Alana in Indonesia, following the existing property in Surabaya. But Archipelago also plans to add two more Alana properties towards the end of next year, in Bogor and Solo.
