Archipelago International is on track to reach the portfolio landmark of 100 hotels by the end of 2014.

Revealing its expansion plans at the annual Aston Fair Trade Show in Jakarta this week, the Indonesian hotel company said that it has already increased its collection from 75 hotels at the start of 2014 to 80 by the end of the first quarter. It now plans to launch a further 20 properties by the end of the year, taking its total portfolio to 100.

The new hotels will be a mix of luxury Grand Astons, upscale Astons and midscale Aston City and Quest Hotels, plus a range of budget favehotel and NEO hotels.

The expansion will encompass numerous locations across Indonesia, including Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Solo, Malang, Yogyakarta, Bali, Balikpapan, Banjarmasin, Lombok and Kupang, as well as the Malaysian island of Penang.

And Archipelago’s growth is expected to accelerate in the coming years, with plans to launch a further 70 hotels in 2015 and 2016.
