Asiana Airlines has delayed the launch of its first long-haul Airbus A380 flights.
The new double-decker jet was initially scheduled to be deployed on the Seoul-Los Angeles route from 15 August. But this has now been pushed back until 26 August.
Asiana took delivery of its first A380 in late May, and the aircraft entered service as scheduled on 13 July 2014, on the routes connecting Seoul with Tokyo Narita and Hong Kong.
On 4 August, Asiana plans to expand its regional A380 services to Osaka and Bangkok, before launching its first long-haul flight to LA in late August.
Asiana’s A380s come configured in a three-class layout capable of carrying 495 passengers, with 12 private suites in first class, 66 seats in business class and 417 in economy. All the first and business class seats will recline to offer fully flat beds.
