Cambodia hikes Angkor entry fees

Visitors to Cambodia’s Angkor temples now have to fork out significantly more to enter the UNESCO World Heritage site.
Effective 1 February 2017, the price of a one-day pass has increased 85% from US$20 to US$37, while three-day passes have been hiked 55% from US$40 to US$62. The cost of a week-long pass has risen 20% from US$60 to US$72.
The move was first announced last year after a government-run body took control of ticketing for Cambodia’s most-visited attraction. Other tourist sites, including the Royal Palace, National Museum and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, have also seen significant increases.
Cambodia’s tourism revenues declined last year, to approximately US$3 billion, despite an increase in international visitor arrivals. Angkor welcomes more than two million annual visitors.
