China Southern Airlines will launch the first ever direct flight from Shenzhen to Jakarta next month.

The new route commences on 21 September 2016 and will run four times a week, departing Shenzhen’s Baoan International Airport every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 1945 and arriving at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 2320.

The return service will then leave the Indonesian capital every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 0020 and get back into Shenzhen at 0610. China Southern will deploy a single-aisle Airbus A320 on the route.

China Southern has significantly expanded its international operations at Shenzhen recently, and currently connects the city with destinations in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, the UAE and Australia.

Jakarta will mark its second Indonesian route from the southern Chinese city, following its existing Shenzhen-Bali service.
