Capital Airlines, a subsidiary of China’s HNA Group, will make its debut in Australia later this year.
Commencing on 29 September 2016, the airline will operate three weekly flights from Shenyang, the capital of northeast China’s Liaoning province, to Melbourne, via the port city of Qingdao, in eastern China’s Shandong province.
Under the new schedule, flights will depart Shenyang’s Taoxian International Airport every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 1525, arriving at Melbourne Airport at 0825 the next day. The return service will leave Melbourne on every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 1025 and get back into Shenyang at 2335.
Capital Airlines will deploy its 211-seat Airbus A330 aircraft on the route, configured with 33 seats in business class and 178 in economy.
The Beijing-based airline has expanded its international network significantly in recent months, including the launch of its first European flights to Copenhagen and Madrid.
