Chinese carriers boost international links from northeast

There are now more international flight options from northeast China, after a series of new route launches by Chinese carriers.
China Southern Airlines has unveiled a major increase in the number of international routes it offers from Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning province.
This month the airline plans to launch 10 new international routes from Shenyang’s Taoxian International Airport, including flights to the Russian city of Vladivostok, the South Korean hubs of Cheongju, Kwangju, Daegu, Busan and Gangwon-Do, and the Japanese cities of Sapporo, Okinawa, Obihiro and Hakodate.
In addition, China Southern will an extra four weekly flights to Tokyo, taking the total frequency of the route to daily, while boosting its Shenyang-Seoul service from seven to nine flights per week.
Meanwhile, Sichuan Airlines has launched its first ever international flights from its new base in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang province.
On 4 August 2014, the airline commenced a new twice weekly scheduled service from Harbin to Daegu, the fourth largest city in South Korea. Flights will now operate every Monday and Friday using an Airbus A321 aircraft.
Sichuan Airlines has deployed eight Airbus A320 series aircraft at Harbin’s Taiping International Airport, which it uses to operate flights to 30 Chinese cities, including Beijing, Chengdu and Guangzhou.
