Cyprus Airways has announced it will sell its remaining slot pair at Heathrow to American Airlines for US$31 million.

The deal is said to be a key element of the airline’s restructuring plans and will see the carrier operate from Stansted to Larnaca from 14 September.

Cyprus Airways said the deal will help to “enhance the company’s liquidity and 2015”.

The airline previously flew from Stansted between December 2011 and September 2012 and in the early 2000s.
