Accor Middle East inked a management agreement to operate two new hotels, a three-star ibis hotel (150 guest rooms) and a midscale aparthotel Adagio (150 apartments) in Doha. The two hotels will introduce a value for money offer in Qatar’s hospitality market.

Christophe Landais, managing director for Accor Middle East said: “This project will definitely fill a gap in the hospitality market of Doha, catering for both regional and international business, as well as MICE events.”

The hotels offer a combination of hospitality, retail and office space. This new development will see the ibis and Adagio brands and concepts introduced to the Qatar market for the first time.

The Adagio range offers midscale apartments with optional services in major destinations. The aparthotel Adagio includes a mix of spacious studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments. It offers flexible and dynamic pricing designed for various lengths of stays. ibis Doha will complement a regional Ibis network of 12 hotels already in operation and seven currently under development, whilst Adagio Doha will the fifth branded hotel in the region.

The signing of the new properties in Qatar is in line with Accor’s strategy to achieve a target network of 100 hotels in the Middle East in three years. Currently Accor has 86 hotels opened or committed, representing over 20,000 rooms.
