DTCM discuss tourism market trends to promote Dubai

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) organised a joint meeting of the Tourism and Hospital Liaison Group recently to discuss tourism market trends and challenges and explore further ways to promote and market Dubai in overseas markets.
The meeting was chaired by DTCM director general, Khalid A bin Sulayem, who spoke about the first quarter of 2012 and comparison of Dubai’s tourism industry with other destinations. Various initiatives were highlighted launched by the department, including ‘Do More in Dubai’ summer holidays promotion, and the new hotel classification scheme.
Issues of concern to the tourism sector were discussed and role played by the department in overcoming the obstacles and challenges faced by the tourism sector stakeholders. Bin Sulayem spoke about trends in global tourism markets and how these trends and developments could be used to increase the number of tourists to Dubai.
