The Green Festival is being held from 7-13 April, launched by the DTCM in response to directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-president and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote the importance of preserving environment.
The exhibition focuses on promoting the importance of environmental awareness as part of social development efforts, by encouraging initiatives and efforts that aim to increase ecological awareness and preserve environment for sustainable development.
Eyad Abdul Rahman, executive director Media Relations and Business Development, said: “Organizing this first of its kind green extravaganza comes in response to the UAE’s aspirations for innovative solutions to environmental problems and sustainable development. We would also be highlighting the ecological challenges and importance of promoting awareness among business community, individuals and societies.”
The aim of the exhibition is to enhance environmental awareness among community. “There is a need to formulate responsible and sound ecological policies and embrace programmes designed to find solutions to problems facing many sectors, such as energy, water and tourism sectors, so as to ensure a healthy environment.”
