Archipelago International has introduced its favehotel brand to Makassar, the largest city on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi.
Launched in a ceremony attended by the mayor of Makassar and company officials, the new favehotel Daeng Tompo is located five minutes from the city’s Losari Beach and 45 minutes from Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport.
The modern budget hotel features 141 rooms – including a range of triple rooms – all with flat-screen TVs and Wi-Fi. Hotel facilities include a restaurant, swimming pool and four meeting rooms able to accommodate up to 300 people.
The launch marks the first stage in a major roll-out of the favehotel brand in Sulawesi. Archipelago plans to open at least six more favehotels on the island in future, including another four in Makassar.
Overall, there are now 25 favehotels operating across Indonesia and Malaysia, including nine in Jakarta and four in Bali, with a further 40 in the pipeline.
