China Airlines has unveiled plans to launch a new seasonal charter service to Greece.

Commencing on 3 June 2016, the Taiwanese carrier will operate the route once a week, with flights departing Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport every Friday at 2320 and arriving in Athens at 0730 the following morning. The return flight will then leave the Greek capital every Saturday at 1300 and arrive back in Taiwan at 1810 the next day.

The last outbound flight will depart Taipei on 30 September, with the return service leaving Athens on 8 October. All flights will be operated using a 276-seat, two-class Airbus A340-300 aircraft.

China Airlines said the new direct service would take around 12 hours, cutting three hours off the current one-stop journey.

Six tour operators – Lion Travel, Cola Tour, Artisan Tour, SET Tour, Phoenix Tours and MITravel – have partnered with China Airlines to offer 10-day tour packages to Greece.
