Hilton Worldwide added 354 new properties to its global portfolio in 2016, or almost one new opening per day.
By the end of the year, the company’s collection had increased to 4,922 properties comprising a total of 804,097 rooms. And 45% of these properties (2,221) are Hampton by Hilton hotels, the vast majority of which are located in the US. There are also 717 Hilton Garden Inns, 570 Hilton Hotels & Resorts and 494 DoubleTrees.
As of 31 December 2016, Hilton’s global pipeline stood at 1,968 properties comprising approximately 310,000 rooms across 96 countries.
Thirty-two of these countries and territories will be new markets for Hilton, and more than half of Hilton’s pipeline is located outside the US.
