Hilton has opened its second hotel in southwest China’s Yunnan province, and the first under its main Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand.
The new Hilton Yuxi Fuxian Lake is located on the northeast coast of Fuxian Lake, a popular tourist destination just south of the provincial capital, Kunming, and 90km from the province’s main gateway, Changshui International Airport.
The “Mediterranean style” hotel offers 346 rooms with private balconies and lake or garden views, There are six restaurants and bars, including a cigar and whiskey bar, a spa, 24-hour fitness centre, games rooms and a children’s area, plus 1,900m² of meeting space including a 1,200-pax ballroom.
“With a population of 45 million, Yunnan is rapidly developing into a centre for tourism and manufacturing,” said Bruce McKenzie, Hilton’s senior vice president of operations for Greater China & Mongolia. “Hilton Yuxi Fuxian Lake [will] continue our tradition of welcoming leisure and business guests to the world’s most dynamic economic centres and scenic tourist destinations with our stylish, forward-thinking global hospitality.”
The new Hilton joins the company’s existing Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Yunnan, which is located in the tourist town of Lijiang.
