Hilton has opened its first Garden Inn-branded hotel in Chengdu, marking the start of a major roll-out in the city.
The new Hilton Garden Inn Chengdu Huayang, which is located in the city’s Tianfu New Area, becomes the brand’s seventh hotel in China and its first in Sichuan province.
But Hilton has firm plans to open a further six Garden Inn hotels in Chengdu, including a property at the city’s Shuangliu International Airport.
“Chengdu… is an integral part of China’s new Western Triangle economic zone. Hilton Garden Inn Chengdu Huayang is the second Hilton Worldwide hotel after Hilton Chengdu to open in this gateway city where we have several more hotel openings lined up over the next few years,” said Bruce McKenzie, Hilton’s senior vice president of operations for Greater China & Mongolia.
Hilton Garden Inn Chengdu Huayang offers 202 midscale rooms, all featuring 40-inch HD TVs and working areas. Facilities at the hotel include a restaurant, noodle bar, 24-hour fitness centre and 660m² of function space.
