Archipelago International will debut its Hotel NEO brand on the island of Borneo next year.

The company has unveiled plans to launch the select-service hotel concept in the city of Banjarbaru, on the Indonesian province of South Kalimantan, in early 2015.

Located approximately 7km from the city centre and 10 minutes’ drive from Syamsudin Noor International Airport, Hotel NEO Banjarbaru will offer 45 rooms with LCD TVs and free Wi-Fi. Facilities will include three meeting rooms and a coffee shop.

“Here at Archipelago International, we are continually searching for the best locations throughout Indonesia and beyond to launch our hotels. Sometimes these locations are already tourist hotspots, whilst others, like South Kalimantan, are still relatively undiscovered,” said John Flood, president & CEO of Archipelago.

“As such, we are extremely proud to be opening the first Hotel NEO in South Kalimantan, and we hope that with our presence, we will help to further boost this promising destination.”

Launched in 2013, Hotel NEO is marketed as a “stylish yet affordable alternative” to full-service hotels. The brand has already rolled out to locations in Jakarta, Bali and Semarang, with future destinations set to include Medan, Makassar, Solo and the Malaysian island of Penang.
