IndiGo, the Indian low-cost carrier, has unveiled plans to launch a new international flight linking Chandigarh with Dubai.

Commencing on 26 September 2016, the airline will operate daily flights on the new route. The service will mark the first international connection for Chandigarh International Airport, and comes a year after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the airport’s new terminal.

“We are very excited about the new launch from Chandigarh to Dubai. Chandigarh has been a promising market for us at IndiGo. We are excited to provide an international connection from Chandigarh which has been a long standing request from the people of city,” said IndiGo’s president, Aditya Ghosh.

IndiGo is already the largest carrier at Chandigarh, offering domestic flights to six cities: Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Srinagar. Like all IndiGo flights, the new Dubai service will be operated using an all-economy class Airbus A320 aircraft.
