Lufthansa appoints senior director Sales UK, Ireland & Iceland

Andreas Köster has been named senior director Sales UK, Ireland & Iceland for Lufthansa Group. Köster is based in London and reports to Heike Birlenbach, VP Sales Europe Lufthansa Group.
Köster brings many years of experience in airline management to his new position. He started his career in 1997 as a management trainee with Lufthansa. He then gained experience in airline revenue management, before becoming GM Market & Business Development based in Singapore in 2004.
Three years later, he returned to Lufthansa’s Frankfurt office as director Customer Intelligence, being responsible for Customer Data Analysis and Market Research. In 2013, he became director Global Key Account Management, with responsibility for Lufthansa Group’s global corporate customers, travel management companies and online travel agents.
Köster holds an Industrial Engineer degree from the Technical University Braunschweig in Germany.
He succeeds Christian Schindler, who held the position since 2012. Schindler will now be head of Sales and Services Europe for the LSG Lufthansa Service Holding AG being then based at Frankfurt airport.
