Archipelago International has opened a new hotel and convention centre in Banjarmasin, the Indonesian city on the south coast of Borneo.
The new Aston Banua Hotel & Convention Center is a new four-star hotel located next to a major entertainment and shopping complex, and half way between Banjarmasin’s airport and city centre.
The upscale hotel features 206 rooms and suites, a restaurant, lounge, swimming pool, spa and fitness centre. And the adjoining convention centre is the largest MICE facility in the South Kalimantan region, with a 2,000-pax capacity ballroom and seven meeting rooms.
“We are very excited to expand our Aston brand to South Kalimantan,” says John Flood, President and CEO of Archipelago International.
“After our previous successes in Kalimantan, including our properties in Pontianak, Balikpapan, Samarinda, Ketapang and Tanjung, I am confident that the Aston Banua will quickly become the preferred four-star hotel in Banjarmasin for business and social travel. We also look forward to opening Aston and favehotel properties in Banjarbaru in the coming months.”
The new hotel becomes the 40th Aston hotel in Indonesia and continues the brand’s strategy of bringing upscale hotels and MICE facilities to Indonesia’s fast-expanding second tier cities.
