Singapore Airlines has unveiled a special aircraft livery to celebrate Singapore’s Golden Jubilee.
The new paintwork has been rolled out on two of the airline’s Airbus A380 aircraft, and features a Singaporean flag wrapped around the fuselage, and the ‘SG50’ emblem on the engines.
The first aircraft will take to the skies in early June, followed by the second in July. They will feature the new livery until the end of 2015, serving routes to Beijing, Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, Delhi, Shanghai, Sydney and Zurich.
“Singapore Airlines’ success is closely tied to the success of Singapore,” said SIA’s CEO, Goh Choon Phong. “What better way to celebrate SG50 than by proudly flying the national flag around the world on the world’s largest aircraft?”
As part of the SG50 celebrations, SIA has also launched a series of promotions to encourage passengers to fly to Singapore for the event, including a 50 ticket giveaway for passengers booking between now and 31 July 2015.
