The connections between mainland China and Sydney continue to multiply.
Just weeks after the announcements of new connections to the Australian city from Kunming, Chengdu and Changsha, China Eastern Airlines has now revealed plans to become the first airline to fly non-stop from Hangzhou to Sydney.
Commencing on 15 November 2016, the new Hangzhou-Sydney service will operate three times a week using a 234-seat Airbus A330 aircraft.
Flights will depart Hangzhou, the capital of eastern China’s Zhejiang province, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 2215, and arrive in Sydney at 1330 the next day. The return flights will depart every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 2215 and get back into Hangzhou at 0750 the following morning. The flights will continue onwards between Hangzhou and Beijing.
China Eastern already flies to Sydney from Shanghai, Beijing and Nanjing, and will also launch services from Kunming in November.
Air China’s new direct flight from Chengdu also takes off in November, and Hainan Airlines is planning to start a seasonal service from Changsha this month.
Chinese carriers also fly to the Australian city from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Xi’an, Fuzhou and Xiamen, making Sydney one of the best connected long-haul destinations from mainland China.
