LAURENT A. VOIVENEL has joined Swiss-Belhotel International as senior vice president of operations & development for the Middle East, Africa & India. A seasoned industry professional, Voivenel moves to the Asian hotel group from Hospitality Management Holding (HMH), where he was CEO.
PAHALA NUGRAHA MANSURY has been named as the new president director of Garuda Indonesia, replacing Arif Wibowo who had held the position for two years. Mansury joins the Indonesian national carrier from state-owned PT Bank Mandiri, where he served as finance director.
SIMON NOWROZ has been announced as Carlson Wagonlit Travel’s new chief marketing officer, based in Minneapolis. The former Travelport Asia Pacific chief moves to CWT from Anderson Capital Advisors, a specialist advisory firm he co-founded. He has more than 25 years’ experience.
GORAN ALEKS has been appointed as AccorHotels’ vice president of operations – luxury & upscale hotels for South China. He will take on the new role in addition to his currently position of general manager for the Sofitel Macau At Ponte 16. Aleks has spent 20 years with AccorHotels.
CYRIL TETAZ has been appointed to the newly-created position of head of commercial for Asia Pacific airlines with Amadeus. He will take on the new position in addition to his current role as Amadeus’ regional director for Japan. He has worked for the travel technology giant since 2004.
CHRISTOPHE LAURAS has become AccorHotels’ new vice president of operations, overseeing luxury and upscale hotels in Shanghai and central & northern China. He has spent several years in China, managing Novotel and Sofitel properties in Beijing, Nanjing and Guangzhou. Prior to that he worked in India.
GILES SELVES has been named as Minor Hotels’ new area general manager for Sri Lanka, overseeing the Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort, Anantara Kalutara Resort and Avani Kalutara Resort. He is no stranger to Minor, having previously worked as GM of the Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas.
JONATHAN TONG has become Amadeus’ head of airline IT solutions for Asia Pacific, Russia, Turkey & CIS. The move will see Singapore-born Tong return home having spent the last two years at Amadeus’ R&D hub in Nice. Prior to this he worked for Abacus International and Sabre in Singapore.
SIMONA CHIMENTI has been announced as the new general manager of The Pavilions Bali. The move marks a promotion for Ms Chimenti, who previously served as resident manager at The Pavilions Phuket. Her experience spans four continents and spells with Four Seasons, Starwood and IHG.
JEAN-PHILIPPE JACOPIN has been appointed general manager of The Pavilions Phuket. The son of French hoteliers, Jacopin brings 30 years of experience to the resort, including spells with Hilton and Shangri-La. Most recently he was general manager of the Shangri-La Hotel Xi’an.
