Archipelago International has revealed that its modern budget brand, Hotel NEO, will arrive in Yogyakarta for the first time next year.
Since its debut in March 2013, Hotel NEO has expanded to nine locations in Indonesia, including Bali, Jakarta and Semarang. And in the first quarter of 2015 the brand will launch in the city of Yogyakarta, with two new hotels.
Hotel NEO+ Awana Yogyakarta will be located on Jalan Mayjen Sutoyo, close to the Malioboro shopping district, and will offer 296 rooms, nine meeting rooms, a swimming pool and restaurant.
The Hotel NEO Malioboro meanwhile, will be positioned on Jalan Malioboro in the centre of Yogyakarta. It will offer 155 rooms, six meeting rooms, a swimming pool and restaurant.
Both hotels will follow the Hotel NEO concept, which Archipelago calls “standard minimalist budget”. But unlike other mainstream economy hotels, NEOs come decorated with modern art and individual interior design.
“With Indonesia’s growing number of travellers looking to discover destinations outside of Bali and Jakarta, we are delighted to be expanding our presence in such a burgeoning tourist destination as Yogyakarta,” said Norbert Vas, vice president of sales & marketing for Archipelago International.
“The Hotel NEO brand has enjoyed success in all of the archipelago’s most prominent tourist locations, so we are confident that these new hotels will help to accommodate the increased demand for hotel rooms and to encourage even more visitors to Yogyakarta.”
In addition to the new Yogyakarta hotels, Archipelago plans to roll-out Hotel NEOs to destinations including Solo, Makassar and Medan in future.
