Abu Dhabi celebrates with concerts, fireworks shows and a circus
The 43rd UAE National Day celebrations were recently unveiled by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi). The authority reported three major events – a series of National Day concerts featuring Arab and Arabian Gulf musical performers.
The concerts will take centre stage at Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival stage at Al Wathba and Madinat Zayed Park. There will also be a series of firework displays which will coincide with public events at primary spots around the emirate.
The UAE Armed Forces premier aerobatic team will take to the skies in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. The action sports show – Nitro Circus – will make its Arabian debut on 5 December with a special one-off show in Zayed Sports Stadium.
Dubai International’s tallest chocolate structure
Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest structure was recently displayed in chocolate at Dubai International. The 44.2 feet model was the creation of master chocolatier Andrew Farrugia who built the structure in celebration of the 43rd UAE National Day. The tower was made using 4,200 kilogrammes of Belgian chocolate and took Farrugia and his team of 1,050 hours to complete the work. The tower is located at Concourse A in Terminal 3 of Dubai International and will be on display for two weeks.
Green Hope UAE plants 43 saplings
Green Hope UAE recently got 70 volunteers to plant 43 saplings to commemorate a ‘Green’ National Day. Sustainable development is one of the main components of UAE’s Vision 2021 agenda. Keeping this focus in mind, the 70 volunteers across the age of eight to 25 years joined the parade at Downtown Dubai.
DPG’s family day
In celebration of the National Day, Dubai Properties Group (DPG) hosted a series of events and cultural activities for its employees and their families. Some of the celebrations included henna painting and live cooking stations, photo booth fun and kids play areas. The company is also calling on people to join in and support the Guinness World Record for the largest fingerprint flag in the world using the UAE’s flag.
